Every day spent with my kids is a day I learn something new. Most days the lessons my kids teach me are unintentional on their part. They have no idea how much I learn from them.
I see my oldest daughter and am motivated. She graduated a year early and is going in to her third year of college at the age of 19.
I look at my second oldest and I am inspired. She truly tries to get people to see the good in themselves and is selfless in all that she does.
My oldest son makes me feel thankful. He is a quiet soul that doesn't seem to require much. He reminds me to slow down and take life in and enjoy the simple things.
When I look at my youngest I see adventure. He is my wild child with a pure heart. He loves everyone and everything. He is always down to explore and learn. He shows me how to let go and be free.
I am thankful for summer because it gives me a chance to really connect with all four of them. During the school year and winter months things are so hectic. Summer is a time to slow down and make memories. Reflect. Understand what you have right in front of you.
Never think that because you are the adult you cannot possibly learn something valuable from you child(ren). In times of wonder, look to them. More times than not, however unintentional it may be, they will have something to teach. Thinking caps on parents. The kids have something to say!
